Entity Framework and Firebird

Just a small taste of Entity Framework using Firebird. Nothing else is working (and probably something is doing what it shouldn’t). :-) Compiled right now.

First steps are always problematic. But without help from these guys (from Microsoft): David Sceppa, Jaroslaw Kowalski and Mike Kaufman I wouldn’t finish this “a little bit working stub”. Thank you guys!

I hope to show you, Firebird and .NET fans, better working versions in a near future.

That’s super cool – another provider that supports Entity Framework! The fact that the table shows up in the designer means that a number of things in provider manifest, sqlgen and schemainformation areas of your provider have worked correctly. So you may be actually much closer than you think. You may want to try to run Beta3 Query Samples to see how many of them are passing at this point.

2 Jaroslaw Kowalski> The SQL Generator isn’t working, yet. There are few things that must be done, ’cause I hardcoded some values for testing. But at least, now it’s something visible. :)

    Hi

How can you add tables at edmx file? I try to do that but I can’t! I’ve already configured DDEXP and I can connect firebird database in server explorer, but when I try to generate a edmx file from database I get errors and the tables does not appear!

    Please, help me!
